Having traded in a successful career as a fashion journalist for the love of a diplomat, and Paris salons for a chicken shed in Nepal, Brigid Keenan continues her adventures in Kazakhstan. Her husband contracts Lyme disease from a tick, the local delicacy is horsemeat sausage and a visit to a market leads to a full scale riot, from which Brigid can only excape with a police escort.
And as retirement looms, she faces an entirely new world: shuttling between London, Brussels and Azerbaijan, navigating her daughters' weddingsand grandmotherhood, while at the same time coping with a cancer diagnosis. But Brigid learns that packing up doesn't mean packing in, and the retirement could be her biggest challenge yet.
